Launch Party Press Release

Start Date: 10/23/2012

Publication Party and Signing for
Building a Mobile App by Amber Sawaya

To celebrate the release of Building a Mobile App: A Resource Guide for Clients and Corporations, Red Queen Book Arts is pleased to announce a launch party featuring local author Amber Sawaya on Friday, November 9th from 6 to 8 pm at our downtown book gallery (171 East Broadway).  The event will feature a drawing with prizes from local businesses, and copies of the book will be available for purchase or download during the event.

Building a Mobile App: A Resource Guide for Clients and Corporations collects the experience and tech know-how of one of Salt Lake City’s best web and app firms and makes it understandable for businesses that are starting, or thinking about starting, an app project. The book includes information on why people are building mobile apps, understanding apps (iOS, Android, HTML5, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and Symbian), getting your app built and hiring a firm, and case studies. For those with a short attention span there is a final chapter: Everything you need to know in 10 minutes.

Amber Sawaya is a local author and a partner at Sawaya Consulting—a business-to-business firm focusing on information management through design and technology.  They build corporate tools, informational websites, and web/mobile apps for local and international clients like Boart Longyear, SOS Employment Group, and Knome.  You can learn more about them and see examples of their work at

The event will include refreshments and a drawing for Deluxe Edition copies of the book, gift certificates to the Chow Truck and Anti-Gravity Yoga, and gift certificates for apps through iTunes and Amazon. There will be a limited supply of books on hand for $10 (cash or credit), and people are encouraged to bring a Kindle or mobile/tablet device with a Kindle app to download the book for FREE during the party.

To request a review copy of the book please contact the author and let her know if you want a PDF or print edition. Media Kit is available at:
